Bought a pre-reg / Demo?...

Confused about service schedules?...

We get it. A year says a year. Two years says... yeah we know.
We're not trying to belittle anyone here, but the service schedule and MOT and more importantly, warranty expiration dates, all run from the date of the vehicles registration.
If you've bought a pre-registration (A batch of vehicles purchased by your local establishment to help assist with manufacturers targets, but great news for you) or an ex-demonstrator (Also great for you), these vehicles could be a few months old by the time you get behind the wheel. So, for example, if you buy the vehicle in June and it was first registered in the March, then if its an annual servicing schedule, it will be due in the March of the following year (Mileage dependent).

It is a common practice at the service desk in any dealership / garage to receive a call, or have a customer standing in front of you, demanding to know why they've received a reminder months earlier than they expect it to be.

The same will apply to any first MOT dates and Warranty expirations. They all follow the first date of registration.

So, now you know!
